BRYKULETS Performs At Spilno Camp In Kryvyi Rih

On May 31, the last spring day of 2024, Ivan Ishchenko (also known as the performer BRYKULETS) came to Kryvyi Rih to sing for the Cultural Platform community in Spilno Camp.

“My main impression of the city is a strict older generation and the very bright, open, sociable, interesting youth who still want everything this world has to offer,”

Ivan shares his impressions of Kryvyi Rih.

BRYKULETS, who has long been a mentor of Culture Platform’s projects, talked about his songwriting experience, creative path, and future plans with the adolescents—peaking sincerely and frankly about what shaped him as an artist. Such honesty paves the way to trustful conversations and creates a sense of open communication without judgment. Vechornytsі format is a meeting point where everyone is equally welcome to express their opinion and share impressions, where everybody can just be themselves and just have this experience together.

“Young people like my songs. They value the fact that someone spends quality time with them. The ones who find it important, enjoy it. In general, I join the projects of the Cultural Platform as a mentor in order not to become stuck in my old ways, not to lose touch with reality”, says Ivan. “Young people know and feel even more than we do, so it is crucial to understand them. We get along well. I am constantly learning something new from them, I am inspired by their emotions and behavior—it is a pleasure for me to observe them and I believe it to be very useful”

During the artist’s performance in Kryvyi Rih, an air raid alert was announced again, so the concert had to be moved to the shelter until the end. Despite that, the atmosphere of Vechornytsi wasn’t spoiled—perhaps the new location even increased the cozy vibe a little.

In spite of all the difficulties, art and live communication find ways to thrive and continue to unite young people. As a civil society organization, we are doing everything possible to make this a reality for teenagers and young people from all over the country. Because being together [spilno] is so great!
