Cultural Platform Zakarpattya NGO opens two KONTENTA audiovisual studios in the Lviv region with support from UNICEF Ukraine. These are studios number 11 and 12 that are already working and creating new opportunities for the youth all over Ukraine to step into creative professions.
According to the Decree of the President of Ukraine On the National Youth Strategy until 2030 (Strategy dated 12.03.2021 No. 94/2021), improving the digital competencies of young people and ensuring access to the new generation of digital infrastructure is one of the priorities of the state’s activities in the field of youth work.
KONTENTA is the new generation’s digital infrastructure of mental resilience. The technical setup of the studio and licensed Ableton Live software allow the youth to obtain audio- and video-making skills. Thanks to the hands-on approach to learning, «KONTENTA» audiovisual studies are the meeting place for future competent professionals in the field of creative industries.
The first KONTENTA in the Lviv region and the west of Ukraine, in general, was integrated into the youth center of the city of Stryi. This is the eleventh studio that works in youth centers throughout Ukraine promoting practices from the field of creative industries and improving the creative skills of teenagers and young people in Ukrainian communities to ensure the sustainability of the creative economy, as well as aiding the development of emotional intelligence and improving the mental health of its participants.

In addition to the official opening and presentation of the «KONTENTA» audiovisual studies project, the youth of the community also attended a training session on how to use the studio equipment and recorded a joint track during the sound design workshop.

The opening of a stationary studio setup in Sambir Youth Center took place on the 6th of July.

The official opening was attended by the Deputy Mayor of Sambir for the Activities Of the Executive Bodies Of the Council Sviatoslav Ukhach. During the presentation, he assured those present of the government’s support in the development of the community’s creative projects.

Considering that the city has a functioning Specialized College Of Culture and Arts, the studio should significantly strengthen the students’ ability to create individual and group youth projects thanks to cutting-edge equipment and licensed software from Ableton Live. Youth workers have undergone training in using the KONTENTA studio, which will allow them to actively cooperate with everyone during the working hours of the youth center.

The youth of the Sambir community are already planning to turn their projects into reality with the help of KONTENTA.

“The opening was great, I learned a lot of new and really necessary things; now many opportunities have arisen with this equipment so I will try to learn and record my songs. There are many people here who would like to try recording sound or video—the big plus is that you can try it all for free 😄
Personally, I plan to use it to create and master my songs, maybe even to try video editing—I’ve been wanting to try it out for a while. I would like to make at least 2 of my songs a reality, so I’m going to get to work!”
— Mykhailo Orlovsky, 21 years old

“The opening of the studio was very pleasant. The present participants were delighted with the new opportunities and the amount of valuable information. I learned about all the technical possibilities of the studio from the theoretical and practical side, tried to record voice and instruments, and created a musical composition.
Having a studio opens up many opportunities and inspires young people to record and master music, make streams, live broadcasts, and sessions. I plan to record my own music and set up live broadcasts in the studio”
— Polianska Nadiia, 21 years old

In addition to the opening and training, the youth of Sambir also attended a sound design workshop led by sound engineer Pavlo Chorny
The eleventh and twelfth KONTENTA studios are already working in the Lviv region creating opportunities for a new generation of Ukrainian creative industries connected to working with video and audio content. The «KONTENTA» audiovisual studies project works under the social franchise model: Cultural Platform Zakarpattya NGO helps youth centers set up and launch the studios, as well as mentors and supports their further activities.
By the end of 2024, the civil society organization plans to open 20 studios in various communities with the support of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Ukraine. Centers of the «KONTENTA» audiovisual studies project are already functioning in the Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Poltava, and Kirovohrad regions.
