International Mine Awareness Day—Our Manifesto for All Safety Ambassadors

On April 4th, the world celebrates International Mine Awareness Day, making it a perfect opportunity to thank the entire Ukrainian safety community! Our new video is a manifesto for everyone who has become an ambassador of safety knowledge for children and teenagers. Moreover, it is a reminder of how crucial mine education is in times of war and a letter of appreciation for the people who have taken on this mission.

Over 3,500 educators and 4,000 representatives of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the National Police of Ukraine have already received their certificates from the “How To Teach Mine Safety To Children” Online Course, having conducted at least 3,305 safety lessons.

As a result, more than 177,000 Ukrainian children and teenagers have gained new skills in how to behave around explosive ordnance. This figure is not just a number—it represents every live saved.

Our video manifesto is for everyone who is part of this great transformation. By shaping a safety culture in your community, you are making the future safer for everyone! Watch and share this video on social media with the hashtags #культурабезпеки (#safetyculture) and #міннапросвіта (#mineeducation) to tell others about the importance of this issue.

We are proud of every participant in the explosive ordnance risk education (EORE) course who is learning to teach mine safety more effectively and engagingly—and by doing so, turning knowledge into real behavioral change.

If you are an educator, SESU rescuer, or a member of the National Police, register at courses.bezpeka.info to join the safety community. The best thing you can do to spread mine awareness today is to become its ambassador for Ukrainian youth.
