The first cultural route of Ukraine – “The Way of Transcarpathian Painting”.

Usually, when we talk about the phenomenal phenomenon of Transcarpathian fine arts of the twentieth century, we talk about the Transcarpathian landscape. About the style of an author. But it is interesting to consider specific places – villages, valleys, passes, which became the initial incentives for artists to form the image of Transcarpathia… Imagine that 80 years ago Uzhgorod was one of the 5 art centers of the country. A small city of 12,000 near powerful Kyiv, Odessa, Lviv and Kharkiv. Artists from all over the country – Tatiana Yablonskaya, Mykola Glushchenko, Vasyl Kasiyan – came to the plein airs among the mountains.

Transcarpathia: biosphere reserves, national nature parks, protected tracts, regional landscape parks, and “Beech virgin forests of the Carpathians” and wooden churches – are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
